Veterinary Exam

Routine veterinary exams are an opportunity to address changes in your dog or cat’s health.

Routine exams help us maintain your pet’s health and prevent any diseases from becoming chronic or fatal. Early detection can improve the prognosis of many diseases, keep medical costs down and help your pet live longer. Please don’t hesitate to call us at 519-972-9000 to schedule your pet’s veterinary exam.

What happens during a veterinary exam?

During your pet’s wellness exam, we will perform a physical assessment, checking your dog or cat from nose to tail. We may perform a diagnostic workup for further analysis, including blood, fecal, and urine tests to check for parasites or any underlying diseases. A vital part of the checkup is ensuring your pet is up-to-date on their vaccinations and preventative medication. If neglected, your pet could be at risk of contracting harmful diseases and parasites. We also recommend that your pet receive a routine dental care checkup.

Why is it important to bring my pet in for a veterinary exam?

Bringing your pet in for an annual diagnostic and wellness checkup can help keep your dog or cat as healthy as possible. This can help us detect hidden diseases or underlying conditions early on. Many dogs and cats are excellent at hiding their pain, so subtle changes in their health or behaviour might be easy to overlook.
