Alice Lavin

Hi! I’m Alice, one of the Veterinary Assistants at Walker Road Animal Hospital. I have a degree in Biodiversity with a minor in Microbiology from the University of Guelph, and I’m currently pursuing my Veterinary Technology diploma at the University of Guelph Ridgetown College.
Working with animals has always been a passion of mine. I love being able to care for them and, even though they can’t speak, finding ways to understand and help them during challenging times is incredibly rewarding. Before joining the veterinary field, I worked in a toxicology lab, and I’ve enjoyed transferring those skills to the technical side of vet medicine, including bloodwork, urinalysis, parasitology, and more. I’m excited to continue learning and growing in these areas as I work toward becoming an RVT.
At home, I have a full house of pets! I share my life with a 6-year-old Husky mix named Tater Tot, a 5-year-old cat named Perrin, and two kittens named Matrim and Rand. I also have a couple of frogs and lizards, making life at home just as lively as it is at the clinic!
